Showtime Valentine’s game
Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us (as if you couldn’t tell from the avalanche of red products in store displays and plastered on the covers of magazines).
In honor of V-Day, I thought we could play matchmaker with Showtime’s hottie actors and actresses. Here’s the rule: You get to pick two stars from different shows, pair ‘em up and predict what would happen if they fell in love.
I’ll go first:
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) + Mary-Kate Olsen (Weeds) = Beautiful bohemian tragedy. Both stars have spent some time in recovery for various reasons. Both are talented, tortured paparazzi magnets. Both tend to end up in doomed relationships. In my book, they have all the elements needed for a tragic love story.
Your turn. Be creative — Maybe Tracey Ullman and Kevin Nealon would make a hilarious couple. Or perhaps David Duchovny should explore the XXX-Files with Annabeth Gish. And with all the gorgeous, naked people in their ensemble casts, you oughta be able to create dozens of couples from The Tudors and The L Word.
Happy Valentine’s, everyone. Post your ideas in the comments.

I kind of liked Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Brian Slade and Curt Wild (Ewan McGregor) as a couple from Velvet Goldmine with a little Arthur Stuart (Christian Bale) mixed in. You could always substitute David Duchovny too!
