Bette couture and other L Word news
Lots of L Word news on the interwebs today, friends.
We started the day with the announcement of the new cast of Dancing with the Stars, including Penn Jillette and Marlee Matlin. USA Today has a story explaining how Matlin, who is deaf, will manage on the show without being able to hear the music. (The story compares her to former contestant Heather Mills, who competed despite a prosthetic leg. This begs the question of what the casting department will do when they run through the short list of celebrities with disabilities. Would Tom Cruise’s braces count as a disability next to other stars’ dazzling capped smiles?)
Adding to my case of L Word wardrobe envy, Imaginary Socialite points out just how chic Bette Porter’s clothes are. Balenciaga, Burberry and Helmut Lang apparently hang in the art-school dean’s closet, along with a hot Gucci blouse from the spring 2007 collection. I wonder if Jennifer Beals gets to take any of the pieces home. God knows Jenny had no qualms raiding the wardrobe budget for Lez Girls…
