Pete Wentz to guest star on Californication

As if Californication weren’t enough in touch with its angsty side, we’re now hearing that Pete Wentz, the Fall Out Boy bassist/tabloid darling/Ashlee Simpson baby daddy/MySpace idol, will have a cameo appearance in Season 2.
The gossip blogs and music mags say Wentz will play himself on the episode. He’ll apparently be hanging at a pool party with Mia when Hank shows up. Pete will tell Hank that he loved Hank’s book.
Now I’ll give Showtime credit for the casting of Mary Kate Olsen in a guest role on Weeds. Her over zealous pot-smoking bible thumper brought laughs and new energy to the series. But this, my friends, reeks of stunt casting. Is Showtime trying to up its Neilsen numbers with 18 to 24 year-olds?
