Seth Rogen’s comedy — and porn — stylings head to Showtime
November 21, 2008 by Jillian Cohan
Fresh off his success in Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno, comedian Seth Rogen has signed with Showtime to develop a series that draws its humor from its XXX setting.
Variety reports that Rogen and creative partner Evan Goldberg are working on a show for the network about three friends in their 20s whose lives are full of highjinks because they run a pornography shop together. Rogen and Goldberg will exec produce the as-yet-untitled project, written by Matthew Bass, who also worked with the pair on the hit films Pineapple Express and Superbad.
If Showtime greenlights the series, we have a few possible suggestions for when to run it:
• As a lead-in to Californication, which also revels in scatological humor and easy, if awkward, sex.
• Right after Weeds, to capitalize on the stoner-flick following the Botwins have generated.
What do you think? Is there room for another porn/pot comedy on Showtime? Weigh in below.
