Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet: Dexter stars dazzle in dark hues
January 25, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
None of the Showtime stars and series nominated came away winners, but newlywed Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter looked ravishing on the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet Sunday night, as did their co-star, Julie Benz.
Hall, who continues to fascinate as forensic scientist/serial killer Dexter Morgan but lost the best TV actor in a drama award to House’s Hugh Laurie, chose a spot-on black-tie ensemble. His wife, who plays Dexter’s policewoman sister Debra on the show, turned it up another notch in a dramatic floor-length black gown with gauzy overlay. Benz, who plays Dexter’s long-suffering love interest Rita, also chose black, but went for a flirty, ruched cocktail dress.

The gowns were lovely, but both ladies also chose covet-worthy jewelry. Check out the photos after the jump for all the deets!

Jennifer Carpenter accented her black evening dress with diamond chandelier earrings and a beaded black clutch.
Julie Benz also chose stunning drop earrings, in a whimsical four-leaf clover configuration.
