Alanis Morissette to play Nancy’s OB/GYN on the new season of Weeds

May 13, 2009 by Jillian Cohan

She’s redefined irony (on Jagged Little Pill), played God (in the Kevin Smith film Dogma), and still sells out concert halls around the world. Now, Alanis Morissette is coming to Showtime.

The multiple Grammy winner will make a seven-episode appearance on Weeds fifth season as Nancy’s doctor, an OB/GYN named Audra Kitson. The Canadian singer/actor/songwriter could return the following season, too, reports EW’s Michael Ausiello.

Somehow, the role will require Morissette to film at least one nude scene.  Rumor has it the nakedness will come as part of Dr. Kitson’s pursuit of Andy (Justin Kirk gets a hot chick every season, so why should this one be any different?)

Catch Morissette and other special guests, including Jennifer Jason Leigh, when Weeds Season 5 drops June 8.

Wow, where has she been? Haven’t heard anything ‘ironic’ from her in a while.
