Watch Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli prepare for victory
June 30, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Peter Facinell’s Twitter bet with Rob DeFranco culminates one hour from now in the much ballyhooed bikini dance down Hollywood Boulevard.
Wanna see what Rob’s wearing for the show? Check out Peter’s video of the two shopping for the suit yesterday at Affliction on Melrose. (it’s NSFW, just so ya know). The Nurse Jackie star doesn’t gloat too much about winning the bet, but he’s clearly enjoying himself.
Stay tuned for the video of Rob’s booty dance to Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies,” which Peter promises to post ASAP.
Showtime admits Season 3 was Brotherhood’s last
June 29, 2009 by Jillian Cohan

Sad news, friends. Though we long suspected it, the official word is now in: Brotherhood’s third season was its last on Showtime.
The brutal and gritty tale of the Caffee family’s adventures in Providence seemed to wrap up with Season 3, but the network today told E!’s Kristin Dos Santos that there will be no Season 4.
In September, Brotherhood star Ethan Embry hinted that the show was headed for cancellation.
“I’m kind of getting the feeling that they might end it this year and wrap up loose ends,” he said, “but if everyone starts realizing what a great show it is and starts watching, they’d probably squeeze a couple more out.”
Sadly, that’s not the case. But the DVD of Season 3 is expected to drop on Sept. 22.

Nurse Jackie Season 1, episode 4
“School Nurse”
Air date: June 29, 2009 on Showtime
Tonight on Nurse Jackie we get a deeper look into Jackie’s addiction, in a subtle way:
- After a meeting with their daughter’s teacher, a school nurse and a school psychologist results in a recommendation for counseling and anti-depressant medication, Jackie curses the nurse for wanting to give Grace meds. She then urges Kevin to consider enrolling Grace in private school.
- Dr. O’Hara, never the most kid-friendly of women, must endure the emotional thanks of a boy whose twin brother she saves.
- Zoey, frustrated that she’s getting the “boring” cases, loses a patient for the first time and learns that caring for people is never easy.
- Jackie finds a new way to communicate with Eddie and keep their affair going.
Since this episode focuses so much on Ruby Jerins, the young actress who plays Grace, I thought y’all would appreciate these behind-the-scenes photos of director Steve Buscemi coaching her through her performance:

Is it time for Jonathan Rhys Meyers to head back to rehab?
June 28, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Well, Showtime Fans, could you have guessed his sobriety wouldn’t last? Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been back in the tabloids of late.
This time he’s in the hot seat for allegedly assaulting a waiter at a bar in the Paris airport.
Jonny Boy had recently claimed he’d cleaned up after a third try at rehab, but it looks like moderation isn’t his style.
He also was arrested in 2007 after a drunk and disorderly episode at the Dublin airport (deja vu, anyone?).
In Paris, he reportedly punched a waiter in the face after the bar staff stopped serving him drinks while he was waiting for a flight home.
“Everyone recognised him as the guy who plays Henry VIII,” a witness told Britain’s Daily Telegraph.
“He was insulting the police and saying he could buy himself out of any problems, even throwing money on the ground so as to prove how much he was worth,” the witness added.
JRM has been ordered to appear in court in September on charges of “willful violence, outrage, hitting and threatening death,“ according to news reports.
With several stints in rehab behind him (one of which he denied) and a number of playboy moments documented of late, it looks like the Tudors star is teetering on the brink of self-destruction.
What do you think? Is JRM’s alcoholism harming his career? Or can this Irish lad bounce back from just about anything, like his character in Match Point?

Win a signed Weeds pilot script from one of the show’s stars
June 28, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Weeds‘ Andy Milder, who plays Dean Hodes, embattled and embittered ex-husband of Celia, has a terrific contest going on his Twitter account.
He’s managed to get the stars of the show to sign the script from the pilot episode. He’ll give it away to a fan on Tuesday, June 30 … provided that fan answers his trivia question correctly.
Today Andy wants to know how hard you think the question should be (folks have encouraged him to make it a challenge, not something that we could easily look up on IMdB or Google.) If you don’t already follow him, add @andymilder to your Twitter stream and weigh in on the contest.
Here are the contest deets, per Andy’s tweets:
At a random point on Tuesday, June 30, I will ask a question. The 33rd person with the correct answer will win a signed Weeds script.
No more than 3 entries per person. More will disqualify you (I’ll count. I will!).
I smell a challenge, Showtime Fans. You’ve got two days to brush up on your <em>Weeds</em> trivia, so hit the books … er, or the Interwebs and iTunes … whatever works.

Coming this September: The spawn of Dexter Morgan
June 25, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
And baby makes three. That’s the message of the new promo poster Showtime released for Dexter’s fourth season.
The little bundle of joy pictured below is meant to remind us all that Dexter and Rita are expecting. What we won’t know ’till September is whether we’re looking at the Bay Harbor Butcher, Jr.
Dex will no doubt struggle with fatherhood and with the notion that his “dark passenger” may reside in his child, too. But hey, those spatters on the bib could just as easily be spaghetti sauce — couldn’t they?
That’s the beauty of Dexter … you never know when the show’s going to take a bloody turn.

Actually, we know John Lithgow’s guest role next season will be plenty bloody, since his character only kills in threes.
Season 4 debuts Sept. 27. No worries, though. We’ll have plenty of Dexter info to keep us entertained next month when stars Michael C. Hall and Julie Benz speak to fans at Comic Con.

Weeds new guest star Kate del Castillo dishes on what makes the series so great
June 24, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who’ll play tough crime boss Pilar this season on Weeds, recently shared her thoughts on joining the cast with Latina.com.
The former telenovela star dished about why she thinks the Weeds creators do a great job with the plot lines in Mexico, why Pilar is a perfect foil for Mary-Louise Parker’s Nancy Botwin, and what it was like working with ex-boyfriend Demian Bechir (he plays Esteban Reyes, Nancy’s love interest).
Del Castillo appears for the first time in episode 6. Here’s the skinny on her Weeds experience:
• On reuniting with Bechir: “I’ve known Demian for a long, long time. We worked together on this movie called American Visa, which is actually a very good movie we shot in Bolivia four or five years ago. He’s a well-known actor in Mexico, so it was great to work with him again and see him again.”
• On her character, a violent and intense woman who gets to boss Esteban around: “I love these kinds of roles because lately everything is changing about Latina roles in the United States. Before, it was either we were kind of slutty or we played maids … (Pilar) knows exactly what she wants, and she will do whatever it takes to get someone out of her way!”
• On why the series needed another ball-busting woman: “It’s also great for me as a fan ofWeeds, to see another strong woman like Pilar be at the same level as Nancy. Because Nancy’s never been threatened by a woman! It’s always about men around her.”
• On the darkness of the plotlines after the show moved from suburbia to the U.S./Mexico border: “What I love about Weeds is that they do the real thing! They don’t just say “oh let’s do something about Mexico,” and then suddenly, it’s all Ecuadorians and Salvadorians and Puerto Ricans. They like to be real … I love that Demián is actually doing a Mexican role. For me, that’s incredible. And they’re talking about great themes and issues. They keep it real and funny.”

More details on Nurse Jackie star Peter Facinelli’s Twitter bet event
June 23, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
With his Twitter bet opponent conceding, Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli is making plans for his victory celebration.
Rob DeFranco will dance down Hollywood Boulevard in a bikini on June 30, a week from today, with the evidence posted soon after on YouTube.
After the bikini dance, Peter will hold an autograph signing at Affliction, a clothing store on LA’s Melrose Ave.
When the store found out about Peter’s bet, Afflictiont decided to donate $10,000 to the Christopher Reeve Foundation in honor of his dedicated followers (that includes you, Showtime Fans!). Peter will draw the name of the winner of his director’s chair back at the autograph signing.
“Thank you to all of my fans and followers,” he posted to @peterfacinelli tonight. “It was amazing to watch the power of unity at work, even for something as silly as this bet.”
