Showtime admits Season 3 was Brotherhood’s last

Sad news, friends. Though we long suspected it, the official word is now in: Brotherhood’s third season was its last on Showtime.
The brutal and gritty tale of the Caffee family’s adventures in Providence seemed to wrap up with Season 3, but the network today told E!’s Kristin Dos Santos that there will be no Season 4.
In September, Brotherhood star Ethan Embry hinted that the show was headed for cancellation.
“I’m kind of getting the feeling that they might end it this year and wrap up loose ends,” he said, “but if everyone starts realizing what a great show it is and starts watching, they’d probably squeeze a couple more out.”
Sadly, that’s not the case. But the DVD of Season 3 is expected to drop on Sept. 22.

I CANNOT BELIEVE SHOWTIME HAS DONE IT AGAIN. THEY DROPPED HUFF A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, A GREAT SHOW AND NOW BROTHERHOOD. BOTH SHOWS DROPPED IN THEIR PRIME.
I THOUGHT HBO WERE THE ONLY A HOLES FOR DROPPING A GOOD SHOW LIKE DEADWOOD.
WITH ALL THE GARBAGE ON TV TODAY IT’S A SHAME TO SEE GREAT SHOWS BEING DROPPED.
i hate that every time i start to like a seies they take it off!!!! there are SO many stupid shows on, and this one was a GOOD one!!!!i demand that shotime brings it back and that hbo brings back the sopranos , oh and also seinfield!!!!please
I longed to return to the short freezing spells, long hot days, dirty streets right next to historic monuments in the City of the Seven Hills, since moving away a year ago. The tower of the beautiful arts building in which I painted within 3200 square feet, with 17 foot ceilings, with a 75 ft horizontal waterfall and (finally) a bike trail with a parade of people everyday, was featured in episode 1 of season 1. Brotherhood used local truths and flavors and it was my momentary ticket back.

It’s a crime not to have a season four of brotherhood. I would have love to seen Tommy Caffe indicted and sent to prison, and have a climax at the end of season four that Eillen’s baby is not Tommy’s. Mary Rose gets preganat and ends up in drug rehab, the mafia tracks down Michael Caffe. This show keeps you on the edge. One of my best characters was detective Gates, he may of had marital problems and drunk daily but he had a good heart. So, now Freddy Cork and Mizoli are partners now with Michael outside looking in. Well, we will never know since shotime has given it the ax. I guess HBO is the best network. At least make a movie.
I dropped Showtime –only watched BROTHERHOOD and don’t need it now.
I am so disappointed!!! I just can’t believe that Brotherhood, the best show on TV, would be cancelled. Showtime blew it big time!
I agree with Brad and was thinking the SAME thing–they dropped Huff, which still gripes me, and now Brotherhood–makes me want to boycott Showtime. At least there’s still Weeds (or IS there???).
So many stories left untold… the cancellation of brotherhood is short sighted. You need time to build your audience. if your good they’ll find you.
The cast was outstanding the stories just starting to really explore what could’ve been. Too Bad maybe it’s time to cancell since the only reason I kept showtime was BROTHERHOOD
I saw the first two episodes on the last disc of Dexter, season 1. I was instantly hooked on brotherhood from the 1st episode. Unlike sopranos, brotherhood had a more interesting apeal to it. It mixed politics with violence, not just violence. Remarkably similar, but very diferent at the same time. I just finished the third season and learned that it was the last. I am very dissapointed to say the least. At least we still have Dexter and weeds….for now.
Well that sucks !!! Brotherhood blows the doors off the Sopranos to anybody that hasnt watched this check it out now.I was skeptical at first but now I love it.Bring on Season 4 !!!!!
Have to agree. Sopranos didn’t do it for me, except season 3-4, rest was meh. Brotherhood on the other hand was pure genius. Very rich characters and diverse dilemma’s. It’s a travesty this show won’t be back. The acting was brilliant here; I can’t think of a single weak cast member.
I am absolutely shocked that the series is not continuing. Showtime is absolutely kicking HBO’s butt with high quality, gritty shows like brotherhood and then they pull a stunt like this. Has management changed or something? I find it ridiculous that the executives at showtime could not pull it together to keep this series going, unbelievable!!!! Someone needs to get their head out their a** and wake up.
really sad to see this go. i was hooked right away when i decided to buy the first season on dvd. i was quite pleased with the finale though.
Why in the world cancel this show? Every good show seems to be cancelled in its prime. Its like deadwood. Why would you cancel these shows? They’re the only interesting things on television. Everyone I know has heard of Dexter whether theyve seen it or not. How about some advertising? How about some marketing? Ive never heard of this show until the 3rd season and no its cancelled? Truly a shame that these network producers cant see the quality in there own work. Bring the show back!

Showtime can kiss my azz! I’m so sick of them doing this crap. When Dexter ends, I’m getting rid of SHO for sure! This isn’t the fist time they have screwed the viewer over. Go to hell SHO. Whew, that felt good. LOL
As I sit here with steam coming out of my ears…remember what they did with Huff?! Urgh…they make me sick! I forgot I have to stick around for Weeds. But that’s it…I promise! LOL We need to go on strick with Showtime and stop letting them rule us!
well I’ll be canceling showtime tomorrow, Brotherhood was the main reason I kept it, nothing left on the network worth watching anymore
Just found out that Brotherhood got cancelled. I’m really bummed! I watched all three seasons last summer and got hooked! Been looking forward to the story to continue. Showtime needs to reconsider their decision. Their network does have the best shows and they need to keep the viewers happy and watching.
Canceling “Brotherhood” is a big mistake. It’s got a big following. Why experiment with loser shows when you have a winner! Helen

this was literally my favorite show in a long time, and i was so sad to learn that it wont be coming back. it makes me want to get rid of showtime.
I’m not going to say I was a huge fan but the shows were entertaining, even if they pushed the envelope a little too far. But to just axe the show before you finish the story? C’mon, you couldn’t film one or two more episodes to give us some closure? I’m having flash backs to “The Breakfast Club” when Bender (Judd Nelson) escapes from Vernon’s office and is crawling through the drop ceiling telling the joke about the naked blonde entering the bar with a poodle under one hand and a two foot salami under the other but crashes through the ceiling before the punch line. And now John Hughes is gone so we’ll never know!!
I just got into this show only to find out that there will be no season 4. I was even considering ordering Showtime but that won’t be happening. This is a great show with a great cast and should not be cancelled. Why start watching any Showtime show if they are just going to cancel it? I’ll stick to HBO.
Brotherhood is best show of the decade by far. Showtime needs to market show better and get the word out and this could be their Sopranos! I really hope upper management reconsiders and puts out a few more episodes!!

Brotherhood was genius but the reason it didn’t catch on like the Sopranos did is because it’s a pretty dark and depressing show whereas Sopranos was more comedy and less emotional. Brotherhood is more realistic than Sopranos but the characters aren’t as developed. I just started getting into this show and love it but I wouldn’t have started watching it if I’d known it was going to be canceled, it’s like taking up a crack addiction when all of the crack is gone. What do I do now?
I will miss Brotherhood and was a loyal fan of the show. I travel alot and had to rely on Season DVDs. I’m hoping that they will reconsider this move of cancellation and bring it back. But I wonder if that could happen considering the actors have already signed on to other upcoming projects. Great story plots, acting, etc. It will be missed.

If Brotherhood appeared on another network it would still be on and have kiiler ratings. Showtime did not do the best job in promoting this show. I am so surprised that I just heard of the show a few weeks ago and have been hooked ever since and that I have not come across it in the stores like I do every other show sooner. Now I have watched every show out there and have a huge collection of box sets and I know a great show when I watch one and my opinion is that this show could rival The Soprano’s if only enough people had the privlege of watching it and that’s where Showtime comes in but they dropped the ball again!
Showtime does not have the best reputation for having grade A shows and that is why most people do not even bother to sign up and opt for HBO instead. Now that means the people who do not have Showtime would have to come by Brotherhood in the store or find it on netflix or something but they usually do not pay attention because the show was never promoted properly, so that means there are still a great deal of people who never got that chance to have seen Brotherhood but have never even heard of it and I am suprised that I just heard of it after 3 season’s, in fact I am shocked that I just found out about and it has been cancelled. If any of the other networks were smart they would try and pick this show up. I am sure that the person who made the decision to cancel makes alot of money and how he made it there must be dum luck or his daddy owns the company or something because he should not be in the business because it did not take a brain surgen to know you have a winner. (I want his job)
I believe that Brotherhood & Tudors and are examples of some of the best Script writing any channels has produced for television. Must shows are very simple in there ideas and characters. Yes, including the Sopranos. If you remember correctly after season 1 the sopranos lost all of its great script writing and became the same old show episode after episode and most show fallow this equation, Good for a few laughs and maybe take your mind of things for a few mins. Brotherhood actually captured reality and created charters you liked or not, but they were real. I guess us more serious viewers will be stuck watching shows that repeat themselves over and over again for as many seasons as humanly possible!
After losing Sopranos…I started watching this show with my husband. We just finished with season 3 and looking for season 4. Now I read this, they have cancelled Brotherhood. I was also loving Huff and then this one was cancelled. Hell you took off Dexter and now he is back. Dag…HBO has True Blood. It makes we wonder will Weeds and Californication be dropped also. Come on…I want to find out about the baby and will Michael find that low life cousin who stole his girl. Come on Showtime…if you can keep Tudors and Diary of a Call Girl you can at least bring back Brotherhood and Huff.

Brotherhood was a great show. I think it was a bad idea to cancel.
That Brotherhood is gone and that “Diary of a Call Girl” and “United States of Tara” have been granted another season is a travesty.
It’s a shame Showtime canceled a great show life Brotherhood. It was the only reason that I ordered the channel, i guess now I will have a lower cable bill when I cancel Showtime. Thanks Showtime for putting some money back in my pocket.

I just finished watching season three and can’t believe there won’t be a fourth season. At least there was SOME degree of closure I guess. Oh well, such is life.

I was a huge fan. Quality televeison which is hard to find. As mentioned before not a weak character in the entire ensemble. The actor playing Michael deserves an emmy…….what a talent. His mania and anger filled the screen like I have never seen before……what a great job on such a complex character. The casting throughout was as good as it gets.
Why is good television so hard to sell……Brotherhood, Deadwood, Friday Night Lites………the best seem to have to beg for an audience…..What a shame.
Say it aint so.What is it money? With so many pay channels out there I believe Showtime is making a costly mistake. Its easier to make enemies thatn Fans.
