The L Word’s Jennifer Beals renews recurring role on Fox’s Lie to Me

L Word alumna Jennifer Beals did such a good job on the premiere season of Fox’s Lie to Me that the series has asked her to return for its sophomore season.

Beals will continue in a recurring role as Assistant U.S. Attorney Zoe Landau, Cal Lightman’s (Tim Roth) ex-wife and mother of their teenage daughter, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While working on a case together, Zoe and Cal discover they still have feelings for each other, AceShowbiz reports.

In the season finale, Zoe helps Lightman with an investigation and both are concerned about their daughter’s safety.

The second season of Lie to Me debuts Sept. 28 on Fox.
