United States of Tara’s new alter-ego: A flower child

September 22, 2009 by Jillian Cohan

With Sunday’s Emmy win for best actress in a comedy behind her, United States of Tara’s Toni Collette went back to filming Season 2 of the critically acclaimed series. As for rumors that Showtime wants to cancel the show, writer Diablo Cody firmly put them to rest on her Twitter page. The rumors are are a “complete lie,” she wrote, “they’re thrilled with the show.”

Here, in a photo taken earlier this month, Collette and co-star John Corbett take a lunch break from shooting a new Tara episode in Los Angeles. Below you’ll find a sneak peek of the show’s newest character. She’s an alter named Shoshanna – a hippie who’s got a thing for Tab soda and rose-colored glasses.
