Golden Globes red carpet photo gallery

Hey there, Showtime fans. Big night at the Golden Globes, eh?
Along with wins for Toni Collette, Michael C. Hall and John Lithgow, we saw lots of Showtime stars looking great in spite of the rain that dampened the beginning of Hollywood’s awards season.
We’re still on the hunt for red carpet photos of some of your favorite actors and actresses (Did no one photograph Edie Falco? Seriously?), but here are a bunch of paparazzi pics from the event.
Some quick thoughts:
- The guys from Dexter look like they love hanging out together
- David Duchovny, who must’ve been in the lobby when …read more

Californication’s Natascha McElhone is glad to look her age

Californication’s Natascha McElhone is glad to look her age

Californication star Natascha McElhone recently made it into the pages of the UK’s Daily Telegraph for saying she’s glad she looks old, because it means she won’t have the pressure to resort to botox and plastic surgery to maintain the Hollywood illusion of perpetual youth.
“I’ve always looked old for my age,” she said. “It must be hard if you are the sort of impy, cute, cheeky girlfriend type, but that has never been me. I’ve always played women.”
At age 38, McElhone is hardly ancient — and she’s incredibly beautiful. Catch her next in Heaven and Earth, in which she plays …read more

Californication’s Eva Amurri beats Halle Berry, Salma Hayek and other hotties to earn ‘best nude scene of the decade’

In these things we are not experts, but Mr. Skin knows his nudity. The blogger whose site chronicles all things naked in Hollywood has crowned Californication’s Eva Amurri as the best of the best, putting her nude scene above all others in his “Top 10 Nude Scenes of the Decade.”
We’re a (semi)family-friendly blog, so we can’t show the clip of Ms. Amurri’s winning moment here, but as you can see, she’s voluptuous even with clothes on.
“It’s a testament to how far television’s come this decade that the top spot would be taken by a nudecomer on a TV show,” Mr. …read more

Showtime stars honored with 2010 Golden Globe noms

You know they’re great. We know they’re great. Now, the Hollywood Foreign Press agrees they’re great. Some of our favorite Showtime starts got the nod for acting excellence with nominations for the 2010 Golden Globe awards.

Bravo to United States of Tara’s Toni Collette, Dexter’s Michael C. Hall, Nurse Jackie’s Edie Falco, Californication’s David Duchovny and Dexter’s John Lithgow for their noms!
Our two cents: Collette, who already scored an Emmy for her performance as Tara Gregson, Falco, who somehow breathed new life to the stale medical drama genre, and Lithgow, who gave us chills as big baddie Arthur Mitchell, deserve …read more

Californication’s Eva Amurri guests on How I Met Your Mother

Californication’s Eva Amurri guests on How I Met Your Mother

If you’re a Showtime and CBS viewer, you probably got an unexpected treat this Sunday and Monday: Back-to-back viewings of actress Eva Amurri.
On Californication, Amurri’s character is a self-actualized stripper/college student who’s unwilling to let Professor Hank Moody end their relationship. This week her antics with her coworkers brought much hilarity (and much nudity) to the series.
On CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, Amurri’s guest appearance was much more demure.
She played Shelly, a teacher and co-worker of Lily’s who was about to be set up with the perennially single Ted (a blind date three years in the making). She instead …read more

Californication’s Natascha McElhone dazzles on the red carpet at the London Film Festival

Californication’s Natascha McElhone dazzles on the red carpet at the London Film Festival

This season on Californication we’ve seen David Duchovny’s Hank take a wild romp through the college campus where he’s teaching, bedding TAs, students and department chairs with abandon.
That’s par for the course, but it was with relief that we saw the return of his soulmate and baby mama Karen in later episodes. The chemistry between Duchovny and Natascha McElhone can’t be replicated with any of Hank’s many flings.
McElhone has kept a fairly low profile since the sudden death of her husband last year. The actress recently was spotted on the red carpet at the London Film Festival, taking in the premiere …read more

A little T&A for your Friday, thanks to Californication guest star Rick Springfield

A little T&A for your Friday, thanks to Californication guest star Rick Springfield

Who says 60 can’t be smokin’? Certainly not the Showtime folks who approved casting rocker Rick Springfield as a buddy for Hank Moody on this season of Californication.
Check out this report of Springfield’s antics earlier this week, at a performance in Montgomery, Ala.:
The Australian-born Springfield has performed for millions of fans over the last three decades and he entertained hundreds … with hits like “Jessie’s Girl,” “I’ve Done Everything for You,” and “Human Touch,” and songs from his 2008 CD, “Venus in Overdrive.”
The 60-year-old singer/songwriter also mentioned his recurring role on the Showtime hit, Californication, and the fact that he …read more

Showtime’s best online extra EVER: Pam Adlon’s video diary from Californication

Showtime’s best online extra EVER: Pam Adlon’s video diary from Californication

OMG. Californication fans, you must watch these videos. Showtime’s PR department had the genius decision to set actress Pamela Adlon up with a videophone and send her out to film behind-the-scenes footage on set.
As Adlon tools around the studio, she’ll introduce you to the props department, the rubber band guy, the head of the costume department and other key personnel. Adlon is quite funny in her scripted role as long-suffering wife Marcy Runkle, but her improv skills are in fine form for the video diary. Take a look at Video No. 1:
Video No. 2, in which Adlon and the …read more
