The Tudors’ Henry Cavill with long locks: hit or miss?
December 27, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Ever since Henry Cavill appeared beside Jonathan Rhys Meyers‘ King Henry as loyal friend Charles Brandon on the first season of The Tudors, we at Showtime Fan HQ have had a bit of a crush on the British hottie.
As the seasons progressed and Brandon’s character grew into a mature lord who concerned himself as much with matters of state as he did with comely lasses, we continued to be smitten. Meantime, Cavill added action movies and Woody Allen films to his resume and looked great doing it.
We therefore have very mixed feelings about this photo snapped earlier this month at …read more
The Tudors’ Henry Cavill makes fans swoon in hunky cover shoot for Spanish mag
October 6, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Yum, yum, yummy. Henry Cavill, who plays the oh-so-suave Duke of Suffolk on The Tudors, is this month’s cover model for the Spanish magazine Neo2.
He looks totally hot in the Ne02 spread, but the British film and TV star said he had trouble fitting in with the guys at his boarding school in junior high because he was a chubby kid.
“I wasn’t popular,” he told the magazine, according to JustJared. “I came late in the first quarter. When I arrived, the boys had already formed their cliques.”
Lucky for Henry, he shed his baby fat and he now fits in perfectly …read more

September 3, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
We like the way you think, Mandi Bierly and Michael Slezak.
These Entertainment Weekly staffers put two Showtime stars on EW’s list of 25 celebrities they couldn’t believe readers left off the list of Ultimate Hotties for 2009.
Mandi chose hunky Henry Cavill from The Tudors, saying she might’ve placed him higher if she’d bothered to see Whatever Works, the Woody Allen movie he appeared in this spring.
Michael selected newcomer Dominic Fumusa, a.k.a. perfect husband Kevin Peyton on Nurse Jackie, for making the freshman series imminently watchable.
Excellent taste, guys! Now, Showtime Fans, what about you? Which Showtime stars do you think are the …read more

June 21, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Henry Cavill, who plays King Henry’s BFF Charles Brandon on The Tudors, has been named “Must Dashing Duke” by Entertainment Weekly, which this week released its double-issue “Must List” with all the top summertime movies, stars, gadgets and more.
Cavill, aka the Duke of Suffolk, made EW’s list because “the Brit displays charm, depth and a killer bod” on The Tudors. The film drops this weekend in select markets, but you can …read more
Coming up next on The Tudors: Henry Cavill’s Duke of Suffolk leads an army
April 5, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Half the fun of The Tudors is the sex, intrigue and affairs at court. But the other half is all action and we’ll get a big dose of it in upcoming episodes as Henry VIII strives to quell an uprising in his kingdom, where regular folks aren’t keen on Cranmer and Cromwell looting England’s abbeys in the name of the Reformation.
The king can’t fight the rebels himself, as the gash in his leg has kept him confined to his bed (where he’ll find comfort in Charlotte Salt’s Lady Miseldon, who is happy to play nurse). So Henry turns to his …read more

Hunky Henry Cavill set to star in “300″-esque Greek epic
November 8, 2008 by Jillian Cohan
Henry Cavill, who plays pretty, pouty Charles Brandon on The Tudors, has been tapped to lead the cast in “War of the Gods,” one of two CGI-heavy Greek epics going into production soon.
Cavill will star as Theseus, the heroic king of Athens, Variety reports.
“War of the Gods” is on a parallel development track to “Clash of the Titans,” also starring a hottie with an accent (Aussie Sam Worthington), fueling speculation about which “300″-esque film will conquer the box office.

Henry Cavill says he’d rather make tons of money than earn critical raves
April 27, 2008 by Jillian Cohan
Henry Cavill’s chiseled good looks apparently have caught more eyes than simply those of The Tudors casting agents. He nearly scored the role of 007 in Casino Royale and was a contender for the leads in Batman Begins and Superman Returns.
‘Course we all know how that turned out. After a string of similar disappointments, he almost left the business.
But Cavill, who smolders on The Tudors as Henry VIII pal Charles Brandon, now looks like he’s doing OK in Hollywood. He just finished filming Creek, a Joel Schumacher flick about a Nazi experiment, and he’s been cast opposite Evan Rachel …read more
