Showtime’s still laughing with Tracey Ullman and will into next year. The first season of State of the Union bowed on Sunday, but Showtime execs have ordered a second, seven-episode, season for 2009, Variety reports.
British comics apparently are the hot thing at the network, as entertainment president Bob Greenblatt just signed Marc Wooten, a BBC […]

… Or so says Page Six. The NY Post’s gossip pages rounded up a few publicists to find out what Dina Lohan, David Beckham, Campbell Brown, Laurie David and Arianna Huffington think of Tracey’s mimicry of them on State of the Union. Amid “no comments” and unreturned calls, they learned:
• Beckham takes the attention in […]

In light of all the American Airlines cancellations recently plus that dismal airline quality ratings survey, I thought it fitting to preview Tracey Ullman’s next State of the Union with this clip, of a flight attendant who has been pushed too far.

On the second episode of State of the Union, Tracey Ullman treats us to one of her amazing male parodies, David Beckham. Here he is, greeting the media at his first press conference since joining the LA Galaxy soccer team. Sadly, Becks is having some follicular trouble:

My friends at Showtime sent over a preview of the first season of State of the Union, which some of you watched for the first time tonight. Tracey Ullman is brilliant — as an impersonator, as a writer, as an observer of the American condition.
She creates amazing parodies of public figures (Arianna Huffington is […]

From the looks of it, the cast of The Tudors is one big, happy — and saucy — family. Here are a few pics from the red carpet to start off. Many more after the jump.
Check out the classic poses on these two! Natalie Dormer and Jonathan Rhys Meyers may have dressed somewhat casually for […]

With the premiere of State of the Union just weeks away, Tracey Ullman is making the rounds to pimp the show. She did a slew of interviews with the trade magazines recently. Here are the highlights:
Of Andy Rooney, the inspiration for Ronnie Rooney, Andy’s fictional older brother, Ullman says: “I think he’s amazing. When you […]

OMG! Tracey Ullman’s new show is gonna rock. I’ve missed sketch comedy since SNL lapsed into the sophomoric and overly self-referential, but Tracey is bringin’ it back with a vengeance. She says she wants to be the “United Colors of Benetton” of sketch comedy and I think she’ll pull it off.
My favorites from this teaser […]
