Dexter news: Season 3, best TV drama, Jeff Lindsay
March 7, 2008 by Jillian Cohan
Happy Friday, everyone. Here’s a little news for your last few hours of the work week:
• Since a few of you have asked, I looked into the possible air date of Dexter’s third season. No firm date has been announced, but the buzz is that Dex and co. should be back in your living rooms in the fall, possibly as early as September.
• Those of you who’ve read Jeff Lindsay’s Darkly Dreaming Dexter novels know we have him to thank for the amazing character Michael C. Hall has brought to life. Lindsay’s at work on a fourth Dexter book. He just gave an interview to USA Today.
• With The Wire wrapping up its final season, San Fran TV critic Tim Goodman is casting about for a new “best drama” on TV. He picks — no surprise here — Dexter! Goodman calls the last two seasons “thrilling”, with much of the credit due to Hall’s exceptional performance. The show has “a wonderfully intoxicating mix of thrills, pathos, humor and existentialism,” he writes. “That last quality is essential. Dexter is still trying to figure out who he is, what he’s capable of and if, in the end, he can feel any of it.”
