“Easy as Pie”
The episode opens with Dexter (darkly) dreaming. He imagines Miguel walking in on him dismembering a body and wakes with a start. Friendship, he thinks, could become dangerous.
Meanwhile, Rita wants to make plans for the wedding, which they have to do quickly or her baby bulge will show. Dex is a bit befuddled at the idea of having a guest list, but he promises to comply.

“Si se puede”
The episode opens with Dexter and Miguel fishing. “I could get used to the simple joys of male bonding,” Dexter thinks. But then Miguel asks what it was like, meaning killing Ethan Turner. “What did it feel like to take him out?” So much for simplicity.
Dexter reminds Miguel that he should know what it’s like, since he puts people on death row all the time. But Miguel says there’s an ocean of red tape between him and those guys. Dexter tells him killing Turner felt right. “It felt like justice.” Miguel perks up at this, telling Dexter “we’re like minded. together we can make a difference.”
Dex starts to warm to the idea of having a partner in crime, but then Harry pops into his head, saying “who are you kidding — he’d run as soon as he saw your kill rituals.” Harry suggests putting Miguel’s loyalty to the test, reminding Dex that when he gets close to people it tends to end badly.

“Turning Biminese”
We open with Dexter and Rita at the doctor’s office. They see the baby on a sonogram for the first time, getting Dex to think about giving life instead of taking it away. Rita’s really moved by the image, but Dex admits in voiceover all he can feel is her hand gripping his. Still, he has to acknowledge that he’ll soon be a father. The doctor tells them everything looks normal with the baby — as if looks are enough to tell if this child will also have a dark passenger.

“All in the Family”
As its title suggests, last night’s episode focused on family dynamics — Dexter contemplating joining Rita’s family; Prado worrying about his brother, Ramon; Angel feeling totally lost after his divorce, and a young woman grieving for the loss of her fiance.

“Finding Freebo”
Oh my goodness! Another killer episode from the Dexter writers and cast. We’re moving along at a lightening pace, with Dex and Rita contemplating parenthood, Deb finding a link between her dead Jane Doe and Freebo, and Miguel Prado stoking the fires of revenge for his brother’s murder.
The show opens with Dex in the doctor’s office, waiting for Rita to return from her pregnancy check up. He looks at all the kids in the waiting room and wonders whether his own would turn out to be a great little person — or a murderer like his father. Rita comes out and says the doctor confirmed it: They’re pregnant. Dex looks totally confused/conflicted. Rita wants to talk but he says he needs to get to work. Read more

Wow! So, the season premiere sets up where we’re headed in the third year of our fascination with all things Dexter Morgan: sex, death (natch), birth (yikes!), and the breaking of Harry’s code. Oh, and more donuts.
After the unmistakable opening credits, we get close up of what appears to be one of Dexter’s super-sanitary kill labs. Turns out it’s actually the dentist’s office, where Dex is getting a cleaning. He and the dentist talk about the “killer summer” he had, and we see flashbacks to the Bay Harbor Butcher case, then leave the sterility of the dental office for a hot bedroom scene with Rita, who seems to have gotten over that whole Lila debacle.
As Dex later makes pancakes for Astor and Cody, Cody asks if Dex will go to Daddy Day at his school. Dex agrees, seeming pleased and a little surprised that Cody’s rebounding so well from his dad’s death.
