Stan Lee bringing gay superhero to Showtime

Iconic comic book creator Stan Lee is working on a series about a gay superhero for Showtime, SFUniverse tells us. The show, called Hero, is adapted from the Perry Moore book by the same name, Variety reports. It’ll feature a young man who’s gaining superpowers at the same time that he’s coming to terms with his homosexuality.
The story line may be no surprise to the gay community, which has seen parallels between superheroes’ need to hide their abilities from the world and for some gay and lesbian people to closet their sexuality.
