Californication’s David Duchovny puts family first
July 4, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Californication star David Duchovny and Tea Leoni have been spotted together more often this summer, including at Knicks games and on family outings like a trip to Malibu Beach, where they were recently photographed together. The couple, who separated after Duchovny went into rehab for sex addiction in October, have been amicable through the split.
“Their first priority through everything was staying close for their kids and making life as great as it can be for them,” a source told People. “They’ll always be a family.”

The way Duchovny’s handling the separation seems much more mature than how Hank Moody deals with his ex on Californication, but comments DD made recently seem to draw parallels between the actor and his character:
“There’s this heart in the show that he’s truly in love with this one woman and that he’s a good parent, in a really horrible way. These are paradoxes that I thought were mature,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “This was more adult, more articulate, less of a man-boy and more of a man. Comedy for grown-ups, starring a grown-up.”
You’ll find more photos of Leoni, Duchovny and their kids at the beach after the jump.

Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli analyzes Rob D’s dance performance after their Twitter bet
July 4, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
After their Twitter bet culminated in a bikini-clad Rob DeFranco dancing down Hollywood Boulevard to Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies,” Peter Facinelli sat down with Rob to debrief.
The Nurse Jackie star and bet winner chided his friend for almost hitting a spectator and gave him a good amount of grief for wearing Spanx under his suit. Here’s a video of the interview, conducted while the friends sat on an abandoned couch set out by the curb:
Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli collects on his Twitter bet
July 1, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Peter Facinelli sure knows how to win a bet. Here’s the dance of shame footage the Nurse Jackie star posted after his buddy, the defeated Ron DeFranco, shook his booty down Hollywood Boulevard:
DeFranco had bet Facinelli that he couldn’t get to 500,000 Twitter followers in a week.
Facinelli trounced his friend, despite glitches in Twitter’s system, so Peter’s earned a few bragging rights.
Still, was the encore really necessary? That’s a lot of man meat shaking around. Just sayin’.

Need we say more? New episodes of Weeds and Nurse Jackie are on tap tonight!

Coming this September: The spawn of Dexter Morgan
June 25, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
And baby makes three. That’s the message of the new promo poster Showtime released for Dexter’s fourth season.
The little bundle of joy pictured below is meant to remind us all that Dexter and Rita are expecting. What we won’t know ’till September is whether we’re looking at the Bay Harbor Butcher, Jr.
Dex will no doubt struggle with fatherhood and with the notion that his “dark passenger” may reside in his child, too. But hey, those spatters on the bib could just as easily be spaghetti sauce — couldn’t they?
That’s the beauty of Dexter … you never know when the show’s going to take a bloody turn.

Actually, we know John Lithgow’s guest role next season will be plenty bloody, since his character only kills in threes.
Season 4 debuts Sept. 27. No worries, though. We’ll have plenty of Dexter info to keep us entertained next month when stars Michael C. Hall and Julie Benz speak to fans at Comic Con.

Weeds new guest star Kate del Castillo dishes on what makes the series so great
June 24, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who’ll play tough crime boss Pilar this season on Weeds, recently shared her thoughts on joining the cast with Latina.com.
The former telenovela star dished about why she thinks the Weeds creators do a great job with the plot lines in Mexico, why Pilar is a perfect foil for Mary-Louise Parker’s Nancy Botwin, and what it was like working with ex-boyfriend Demian Bechir (he plays Esteban Reyes, Nancy’s love interest).
Del Castillo appears for the first time in episode 6. Here’s the skinny on her Weeds experience:
• On reuniting with Bechir: “I’ve known Demian for a long, long time. We worked together on this movie called American Visa, which is actually a very good movie we shot in Bolivia four or five years ago. He’s a well-known actor in Mexico, so it was great to work with him again and see him again.”
• On her character, a violent and intense woman who gets to boss Esteban around: “I love these kinds of roles because lately everything is changing about Latina roles in the United States. Before, it was either we were kind of slutty or we played maids … (Pilar) knows exactly what she wants, and she will do whatever it takes to get someone out of her way!”
• On why the series needed another ball-busting woman: “It’s also great for me as a fan ofWeeds, to see another strong woman like Pilar be at the same level as Nancy. Because Nancy’s never been threatened by a woman! It’s always about men around her.”
• On the darkness of the plotlines after the show moved from suburbia to the U.S./Mexico border: “What I love about Weeds is that they do the real thing! They don’t just say “oh let’s do something about Mexico,” and then suddenly, it’s all Ecuadorians and Salvadorians and Puerto Ricans. They like to be real … I love that Demián is actually doing a Mexican role. For me, that’s incredible. And they’re talking about great themes and issues. They keep it real and funny.”

More details on Nurse Jackie star Peter Facinelli’s Twitter bet event
June 23, 2009 by Jillian Cohan
With his Twitter bet opponent conceding, Nurse Jackie’s Peter Facinelli is making plans for his victory celebration.
Rob DeFranco will dance down Hollywood Boulevard in a bikini on June 30, a week from today, with the evidence posted soon after on YouTube.
After the bikini dance, Peter will hold an autograph signing at Affliction, a clothing store on LA’s Melrose Ave.
When the store found out about Peter’s bet, Afflictiont decided to donate $10,000 to the Christopher Reeve Foundation in honor of his dedicated followers (that includes you, Showtime Fans!). Peter will draw the name of the winner of his director’s chair back at the autograph signing.
“Thank you to all of my fans and followers,” he posted to @peterfacinelli tonight. “It was amazing to watch the power of unity at work, even for something as silly as this bet.”

The Tudors’ Henry Cavill named to EW’s ‘Must’ list
June 21, 2009 by Jillian Cohan

Henry Cavill, who plays King Henry’s BFF Charles Brandon on The Tudors, has been named “Must Dashing Duke” by Entertainment Weekly, which this week released its double-issue “Must List” with all the top summertime movies, stars, gadgets and more.
Cavill, aka the Duke of Suffolk, made EW’s list because “the Brit displays charm, depth and a killer bod” on The Tudors. A bonus: His love-struck performance with Evan Rachel Wood in Woody Allen’s new comedy, Whatever Works (Cavill is shown here at the TriBeCa film fest’s premiere of the movie). The film drops this weekend in select markets, but you can get a preview of Cavill, Allen and Wood in the on-set photos after the jump.
Asked what he would include on his own “must” list, Cavill said he’d choose the video game World of Warcraft. Although the dapper 26-year-old doesn’t look like a hard-core gamer, he said WoW is “fairly addictive.”
