Kevin Nealon interview, plus Weeds Season 3 on DVD

June 3, 2008 by Jillian Cohan

In this wacky little Q&A, Weeds star Kevin Nealon reveals that:

1) He grew up in Connecticut (yawn) and Germany (really?), because his dad worked for a helicopter company that had a contract in Heidelberg. He says something in German — bonus points to whoever posts a translation in the comments.

2) He loves being a dad because he’s better at a lot of things than his son. “It’s been a long time since I could walk over to someone, pick them up, and impress them by my strength.”

3) He estimates that he’s spent about $300,000 on iTunes downloads.

Here’s the rest of the interview.

Weeds casts another MILF for Season 4: Julie Bowen

May 21, 2008 by Jillian Cohan

Julie-Bowen-2007-Emmy-AwardsRemember Julie Bowen, the blonde, chisel-jawed gal who’s showed up on TV series including Ed, Boston Legal and Lost? Looks like she’ll join Albert Brooks as one of the new characters on Weeds Season 4.

Rumor has it Bowen’s been cast as a single mom with an eye for younger guys who cozies up to Nancy’s oldest son, Silas. The two start out as friends but their attraction soon blossoms, much like the new crop of MILF weed.

Season 4 premieres June 16. Till then, friends, make like Andy and smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em.

Weeds’ fourth season full of surprises

April 14, 2008 by Jillian Cohan

When next we’ll meet up with Nancy Botwin and her merry band of pot peddlers, it will be in a much different place. In its announcement of Weeds Season 4, Showtime reveals that Nance and the rest of her crew have fled Agrestic for fictional beach town Ren Mar, near San Diego and the Mexican border. There, she’ll re-team with Guillermo to grow her business on both sides of the border. She’ll open a new front business that’s “pregnant with possibilities.”

The network promises that even with a new location, new friends and a new love interest for Nancy, the show will retain its trademark dark humor.

Adding to its rep for bringing the funny, the show has signed Albert Brooks to play Len Botwin, Nancy’s estranged father-in-law for at least a four episode arc, according to The Ausiello Report.

Season 4 debuts June 16!
